Epiduo may be used to treat severe acne in adults and children ages 9 and up. It comes as a topical gel that is applied directly to the affected skin.
Epiduo gel comes in either a tube or a bottle with a pump. It is only available in a 0.1% adapalene/2.5% benzoyl peroxide formulation. The gel is usually applied to the affected skin in a thin layer once daily, but follow your dermatologist’s instructions if he or she gives you different dosing directions.
Keep the Epiduo gel away from your mouth, nose, and eyes. If you get it in any of these areas, rinse with water immediately. Do not use any other topical medications on the skin you are treating with Epiduo, unless your doctor has given you permission to do so. Epiduo may make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so wear sunscreen and protective clothing when you go outside.
