How long after Advair can you use albuterol?

You can use albuterol at any time as a rescue inhaler. Rescue inhalers treat sudden breathing problems. Advair is a long-acting treatment that won’t help sudden breathing problems. Be sure to tell your doctor if you’re using albuterol more often than usual. They may need to adjust your treatment.

Can you take vitamin D with Advair?

Yes, you can take vitamin D with Advair. There’s no known interaction between vitamin D and Advair at this time.

Does ibuprofen interact with Advair?

Currently, there’s no known interaction between ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and Advair. So you can likely take these drugs together if your doctor recommends it. (Ibruprofen is used for inflammation and certain types of pain.) Be sure to tell your doctor about all the medications you take, including over-the-counter drugs, while using Advair.

When to avoid Advair

Certain health conditions or other factors could increase some risks with Advair. Because of this, doctors may not prescribe Advair in these cases. These health conditions or other factors are called contraindications.

Here’s a list of Advair’s contraindications:

  • Milk protein allergy: If you have a severe allergy to milk proteins, using Advair may cause a life threatening allergic reaction.
  • Past allergic reaction to Advair: If you’ve ever had an allergic reaction to Advair, using it again may cause a life threatening allergic reaction.
  • Rescue inhaler use: Advair should not be used as a rescue inhaler to relieve sudden breathing problems.

Alcohol and Advair

Advair is not known to interact with alcohol.

Advair and supplements

Advair may interact with dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA). This supplement is often used for sexual health, mood, pro-aging support, and more.

Taking Advair and DHEA can make DHEA less effective.

Advair may interact with echinacea. This herb is often used to treat infections such as colds and strengthen the immune system.

Using Advair and echinacea may make Advair less effective. But this interaction doesn’t have a lot of evidence.

Because of this, ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking echinacea or other herbs while using Advair.

Advair interactions and vitamins

Advair isn’t known to interact with any vitamins. But this doesn’t mean interactions with vitamins can’t happen or won’t be identified later.

It’s important that you avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice while using Advair. If you have grapefruit or grapefruit juice while using Advair, the effects and risk of side effects of Advair could increase.

Advair isn’t known to interact with any vaccines. But this doesn’t mean interactions with vaccines can’t happen or won’t be identified later.
