Veltin is indicated for the treatment of acne vulgaris in adults and children 12 and older. Acne vulgaris causes painful and cosmetically discomforting lesions on the surface of the skin, and could lead to more serious skin conditions. Veltin helps reduce the presence of certain factors, such as oil production and bacterial infection, that cause acne vulgaris.
Veltin comes in gel form for topical application only. Wash hands before applying the gel. Wash your face as well with a mild soap or cleanser, then use a clean towel to pat the skin dry. Squeeze a pea-sized amount of gel out of the tube and use it to cover the face. Apply only once daily.
Frequent application will not increase the efficacy of this medication. It may inversely cause irritation of acne vulgaris, inflammation, and extreme dryness of the skin. Limit face washes to three times daily while using this medication. Do not allow this medication in your eyes, nose, or mouth. Wash these areas with water if the medication reaches them. Do not apply medication to sunburned, windburned, irritated, or broken skin.
