With psychosis, you lose touch with reality. And with dementia, you have difficulty remembering, thinking, or communicating.
Rexulti is approved to treat agitation caused by dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease. So, doctors may prescribe it to older adults who have this condition. Talk with your doctor if you have concerns about this risk, given your age.
Risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors in people ages 24 years and younger: The risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors is greatest after dosage changes or during the first few months of treatment. Signs of suicidal thoughts and behaviors include extreme mood swings, feeling hopeless, and personal harm.
