How Tyrvaya is used

You’ll spray Tyrvaya once in each nostril twice per day (about 12 hours apart).

Before using Tyrvaya for the first time, pump 7 sprays into the air away from your face. This will help “prime” the bottle so it’s ready for you to use. If you haven’t used Tyrvaya in 5 days, pump 1 spray into the air before you use it.

To use Tyrvaya, follow these instructions:

  1. Blow your nose.
  2. Remove the spray bottle’s cap and clip.
  3. Hold the spray bottle upright. Place a finger on each side of the applicator and place your thumb underneath the bottle.
  4. Tilt your head back slightly without lying down.
  5. Insert the applicator into your nostril. Tilt the applicator and point the tip toward the top of your ear on the same side as your nostril. Do not press the tip against the wall of the inside of your nose.
  6. Place your tongue on the roof of your mouth and breathe gently while pressing and releasing the applicator one time to release a spray into your nostril.
  7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 to deliver the spray into your other nostril.

Wipe the tip of the bottle with a clean tissue after each use. Do not shake or freeze the bottle.

Also, be sure to talk with your doctor or pharmacist if you’re having difficulty using your medication. They can offer recommendations about using it.
