CAUTIONS: DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE if you have had an allergic reaction to it or if you are allergic to any ingredient in this product. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR DOSE or stop taking this medicine without checking with your doctor. LABORATORY AND/OR MEDICAL TESTS may be performed to monitor your progress or to check for side effects. Keep all doctor and laboratory appointments while you are taking this medicine. BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS, emergency care, or surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are taking this medicine. This medicine may need to be stopped at least 7 days before having surgery as directed by your doctor. THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE DIZZINESS. This effect may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it. SEVERE AND SOMETIMES FATAL BLEEDING has rarely occurred in patients taking this medicine. Contact your doctor right away if you develop blood in the urine, coughing or spitting up blood, severe or persistent nosebleed, or other unusual bruising or bleeding. SEVERE AND SOMETIMES FATAL STOMACH OR BOWEL PROBLEMS (eg, tearing, fistula) have rarely occurred in patients taking this medicine. Contact your doctor right away if you develop severe or persistent stomach pain, black tarry or bloody stools, or vomiting blood or a substance that looks like coffee grounds. MILD DIARRHEA is common with this medicine. Check with your doctor if moderate to severe diarrhea occurs. THIS MEDICINE MAY LOWER YOUR RESISTANCE TO INFECTION. Prevent infection by avoiding contact with people with colds or other infections. Do not touch your eyes or the inside of your nose unless you have thoroughly washed your hands first. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR if you have a wound that does not heal or if you have a surgical wound that has split apart. A SERIOUS AND SOMETIMES FATAL brain problem called reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy syndrome (RPLS) has been reported in patients taking this medicine. Contact your doctor right away if you experience severe headache, seizures, sluggishness, confusion, problems thinking, or vision changes (eg, loss of vision). BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. CAUTION IS ADVISED WHEN USING THIS MEDICINE IN THE ELDERLY because they may be more sensitive to the effects of this medicine, especially liver problems. THIS MEDICINE IS NOT APPROVED FOR USE IN CHILDREN. It may cause serious side effects in children, especially in children younger than 2 years of age. FOR WOMEN: THIS MEDICINE may cause harm to the fetus. Avoid becoming pregnant while you are taking it. Women who may become pregnant should use effective birth control while they are taking this medicine. Check with your doctor if you have questions about effective birth control. IF YOU SUSPECT THAT YOU COULD BE PREGNANT, contact your doctor immediately. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking this medicine.
