CAUTIONS: DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE if you have had an allergic reaction to it or if you are allergic to any ingredient in this product. LABORATORY AND/OR MEDICAL TESTS, including liver function, kidney function, lung function, eye exams, and blood electrolytes, may be performed to monitor your progress or to check for side effects. Keep all doctor and laboratory appointments while you are taking this medicine. BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS, emergency care, or surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are taking this medicine. IF YOU EXPERIENCE MODERATE TO SEVERE DIARRHEA, nausea, loss of appetite, or vomiting, or a severe skin reaction, check with your doctor immediately. Your doctor may need to reduce your dose or interrupt treatment. Do not treat diarrhea with non-prescription (over-the-counter) medicines. You will need to take care not to become dehydrated. Contact your doctor for instructions. THIS MEDICINE MAY REDUCE the number of clot-forming cells (platelets) in your blood. Avoid activities that may cause bruising or injury. Tell your doctor if you have unusual bruising or bleeding. Tell your doctor if you have dark, tarry, or bloody stools. THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE you to become sunburned more easily. Avoid the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths until you know how you react to this medicine. Use a sunscreen or wear protective clothing if you must be outside for more than a short time. THIS MEDICINE MAY LOWER YOUR RESISTANCE TO INFECTION. Prevent infection by avoiding contact with people with colds or other infections. Do not touch your eyes or the inside of your nose unless you have thoroughly washed your hands first. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINES, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor before you smoke or use other tobacco products while using this medicine. Tobacco products my decrease this medicine's effectiveness. CAUTION IS ADVISED WHEN USING THIS MEDICINE IN THE ELDERLY because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the medicine. FOR WOMEN: THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE HARM TO THE FETUS. Avoid becoming pregnant while you are taking it. Women who may become pregnant should use effective birth control while they are taking this medicine and for at least 2 weeks after treatment is complete. Check with your doctor if you have questions about effective birth control. IF YOU SUSPECT THAT YOU COULD BE PREGNANT, contact your doctor immediately. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking this medicine.
