Suprax is prescribed to treat bacterial infections, including bronchitis, urinary tract infections, bacterial STDs (gonorrhea), and infections of the ears, nose, and throat. It is not prescribed to treat viral infections.
Suprax is dispensed as an oral suspension, chewable tablet, capsule, and tablet. It is typically taken once or twice daily with or without food. The dosing frequency will depend on the condition being treated and the strength of the medication.
Overuse of Suprax or other antibiotics can contribute to the evolution of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Don’t use antibiotics in higher doses or for longer than it has been prescribed. Contact your doctor if you become pregnant while taking the Suprax drug.
