If you are experiencing stomach or intestinal ulcers as a result of a bacterial infection, your doctor may prescribe the drug Pylera. This medication comes as a capsule, and the standard course of treatment is 120 capsules over 10 days. Unfortunately, the Pylera price can be high, even if you only need one prescription fill. Use Optum Perks to compare Pylera prices at pharmacies in your area so that you can find the lowest-cost location. Just make sure your zip code and capsule quantity are correct so that you can get the most accurate Pylera cost estimates. After finding the pharmacy where you want to fill your prescription, click the ‘Get Free Coupon’ button next to its listing. You’ll be directed to print or download a Pylera coupon, which you can take to the pharmacy and use to get the best price available on your medication.
Pylera treats peptic ulcers associated with H. pylori infections. It is often prescribed alongside omeprazole (Prilosec).
Pylera comes as a capsule containing 140mg of bismuth subcitrate, 125mg of metronidazole, and 125mg of tetracycline. The standard course of treatment is 4 doses per day for 10 days. Each dose contains 3 capsules, so a patient should take 120 capsules over the course of their treatment.
Don’t use Pylera if you are allergic to any of its ingredients, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have kidney disease, or have taken the drug Antabuse in the past 14 days. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Pylera and for at least one day after you finish your treatment. Don’t consume dairy products or take multivitamins, antacids, or mineral supplements at the same time you take Pylera. Wait at least two to three hours after a dose to take any supplements that contain aluminum, calcium, or magnesium. Contact your doctor right away if you experience any serious side effects, including watery or bloody diarrhea, vision problems, numbness or tingling in your limbs, neck stiffness, seizures, or signs of a new infection.
