Your doctor may prescribe Prolensa to reduce eye inflammation and pain after cataract surgery.
Prolensa is only available in a 0.07% strength. It comes in either a 1.6ml or 3ml bottle of eye drops. Your doctor will likely instruct you to begin using this medication one day before your surgery and for 14 days after your surgery. Apply one drop to the affected eye once daily, unless your doctor gives you different instructions.
Do not use Prolensa if you are pregnant; using this medication in the third trimester may harm the unborn baby. Never use this medication for longer than prescribed; extended use may increase your risk of serious side effects. If you wear contact lenses, take them out before applying your eye drops and leave them out for at least ten minutes after the application. The Prolensa drug may cause temporarily blurred vision, so don’t drive or perform any other tasks that require clear vision until you know you can do so safely.
