This medicine is a hormone used to treat fertility problems in certain women who have not gone through menopause. It is used to treat certain testicular development problems and to stimulate the development of secondary sexual characteristics in certain patients. CAUTIONS: DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE if you have had an allergic reaction to it or if you are allergic to any ingredient in this product. Laboratory and/or medical tests, including hormone levels, may be performed to monitor your progress or to check for side effects. KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are using this medicine. THIS MEDICINE MAY AFFECT CERTAIN LAB TEST RESULTS. Make sure laboratory personnel and your doctors know you use this medicine. BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS, EMERGENCY CARE, OR SURGERY, tell the doctor or dentist that you are taking this medicine. WOMEN NEED TO HAVE a thorough gynecological exam before beginning treatment with this medicine. MALES NEED TO HAVE a complete medical and hormone evaluation before starting therapy with this medicine. USE OF THIS MEDICINE CAN INCREASE YOUR RISK OF SERIOUS BLOOD CLOTS and ruptured ovarian cysts. Discuss the risk of these effects with your doctor. FOR WOMEN: THIS MEDICINE MAY INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF MULTIPLE BIRTHS (eg, twins). Talk with your doctor to discuss your chances of multiple births. OVARIAN HYPERSTIMULATION SYNDROME (OHSS) is a severe side effect that may occur in some women who use this medicine. Contact your doctor right away if you develop severe stomach pain or bloating; nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea; sudden, unexplained weight gain; shortness of breath; or decreased urination. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU ARE PREGNANT. It may cause harm to the fetus. If you think you may be pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
