Lysteda is prescribed to women who experience heavy bleeding during their menstrual cycle; it helps decrease the amount of blood lost.
Lysteda is dispensed as a tablet that is taken orally with water. Typical dosing is three times a day for no more than five days during monthly menstruation. It should be taken on the first day the menstrual cycle begins. Do not take it for more than five days and do not take more than six tablets over a 24-hour period. Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush, split, or chew it.
Before taking Lysteda, tell your doctor if you have blood clots or a blood-clotting condition. Do not take this medication if you do not have a period. Seek medical attention if you show signs of an allergic reaction.
