The prescription drug Diovan is an oral medication available as tablets in doses ranging from 80mg to 320mg. One tablet is taken one time daily, and the dose will be determined by your doctor according to whether you are volume-depleted or if additional antihypertensive aid is required.
Do not take this medication if you are already taking aliskiren. Talk to your doctor if you are taking any ACE inhibitors, NSAIDs, selective COX-2 inhibitors, diuretics, or other cardiovascular medications, as you may need to adjust doses or stop taking certain medicines altogether. You may not be able to take this medication if you have or have had a bile duct blockage, kidney disease, or liver disease. Do not take this medication while pregnant, especially during the second or third trimester, as it may cause injury or death to your infant; you should not breastfeed while taking this medication. This medication can make you lightheaded or dizzy or may cause you to faint if you stand up from a seated or lying position too quickly.
