This medicine is an anticholinergic medicine used for maintenance treatment and prevention of bronchospasm (wheezing or difficulty breathing) associated with obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including emphysema and chronic bronchitis. It can be used alone or in combination with other medicines. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

CAUTIONS: DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE if you have had an allergic reaction to it, to any ingredient in this product, or to atropine or similar medicines. THIS MEDICINE IS FOR USE in the mouth only. Do not get it in your eyes. Getting it in your eyes may cause eye pain, redness, irritation, or discomfort; blurred vision or other vision changes; or new or worsening narrow-angle glaucoma. If you get this medicine in your eyes, rinse immediately with cool tap water. Check with your doctor if you develop any of these effects. This medicine should work for up to 2 to 4 hours. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or use this medicine more often than prescribed without checking with your doctor. BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS, emergency care, or surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using this medicine. IF YOUR USUAL DOSE DOES NOT WORK WELL, your symptoms become worse, or you need to use it more often than normal, contact your doctor right away. THIS MEDICINE should not be used to treat sudden breathing problems. Always have a rescue inhaler with you to treat sudden breathing problems. If you do not have a rescue inhaler medicine or you have questions about which medicine should be used to treat sudden breathing problems, check with your doctor or pharmacist. THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE DIZZINESS, blurred vision, or other vision changes. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to this medicine. Using this medicine alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. THIS MEDICINE MAY SOMETIMES CAUSE SEVERE BREATHING PROBLEMS right after you use a dose. If this happens, use your rescue inhaler. Seek medical care at once. WHEN YOUR MEDICINE SUPPLY BEGINS TO RUN LOW (eg, the counter reaches "40" and the counter background changes from green to red), call your doctor or pharmacy as soon as possible for a refill. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about all of your inhaled and/or COPD medicines and how to use them. Do not start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine unless your doctor tells you to. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU BECOME PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
