If you have glaucoma, your doctor will probably tell you not to take Alprazolam.

Tell your doctor about any history of depression, alcoholism, or use of street drugs.

Tell your surgeon or dentist you are taking Alprazolam before having surgery.

Talk to your doctor before eating or drinking grapefruit while on this medication. Grapefruit contains furanocoumarins which block enzymes from properly breaking down the medication to be used by the body.

Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, irritability, changes in saliva, changes in libido, difficulty urinating, joint pain, weight fluctuation, difficulty concentrating.

Call your physician right away if you experience: seizures, hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, confusion, memory problems, symptoms of allergic reaction, symptoms of liver problems, problems with balance and coordination, shortness of breath.
